I am so happy to be in this moment...sitting quietly and writing. I haven't written in a while, despite numerous attempts, only to feel forced and not true to how I was really feeling. The past 2 months I have been feeling out of sorts as I have tried to figure out my "path," while navigating being home again, for some reason things that were once familiar no longer feel so.
BUT I am now realizing this is how things are meant to be...newness creates change and change is something that is needed to put us on the right path. So instead of trying to control it and guess the turns and twists that may lay ahead, I should try to be as present as when I am in the ocean, focused and ready for whatever comes my way. The waves of the sea are unpredictable, but every tumble and turn brings new perspective and appreciation for how and why things work the way they do.
During this time I have tried hard to listen to my body and care for it...sleep, hydrate, time in nature, and movement. Shedding old habits and ideas as well, as I pick up new puzzle pieces along the way......

My lovely Acai bowl....
Acai ~ a berry from Brazil full of antioxidants. Antioxidants help fight free radicals in the body, which lead to damaged cells and diseases
I blended my acai berries with some kale and avocado (normally the blended berries would appear purple). I then topped it off with raspberries, bananas, some peanut butter on the side for a bit of protein, and sprouted buckwheat and flax seed granola.
It is so good for you and equally delicious!

Some thoughts~
Being able to watch the sunrise and set is an amazing thing. No matter how many times you have seen one, they never get old and it always feels like the first time as you gaze into the horizon.
It is when you are standing before a sunset that you remember to slow down and appreciate life. Perhaps earlier in the day you were feeling stressed, anxious, and or unbalanced. As we watch a sunset we are reminded of the beauty that is around us and how lucky we are to be part of it. It is the time between sunrise and sunset that is up to us to create and find ways that brings us balance, peace, and happiness into our day-to-day lives.
Whether it is going to bed earlier, drinking more water throughout that day, exercising, taking a nice long bubble bath before bed, or even just sitting still on a mountain top, these are all things that help to ground us and make us feel better. It is through these simple daily acts and more that we can move towards a happier self.
So next time you are up to greet the day at sunrise or watching the sun slowly set into the abyss, remember to slow down and smile and think of all the possibilities and choices you have for the day ahead.
All my love,
~M
