I love the feeling when you first wake up and remember you have a day off...meaning you can linger in bed as long as you like, and hey perhaps stay in your pajamas all day?! Well, I did not do that, but I did enjoy staying in bed for a bit and watching the sunlight stream in through my blinds.
I have been missing the sun, though I know we really need the rain. I think I got so used to the sun and high temps. of L.A. that I had forgotten about the weather differences up here in the Bay Area. I could be happy living in crochet tops, flip-flops, and sarongs for the rest of my life :) However, with the recent rain, the flowers have been blooming all around my place....like this beautiful Bird of Paradise...it is starting to feel like Spring!!

I soon got out of bed and made myself a big breakfast. I had plans of crossfit and yoga today so I wanted to be fully energized :) Usually on a work day I just have time for a big green smoothie and a handful of nuts, but today I got to sit and enjoy myself with my Yerba Mate tea. Taking the time to cook and prepare meals can often feel therapeutic and calming...
I continued the rest of my day cleaning and doing some yoga. After a bit of flow practice I worked on my crow pose (Bakasana). This position is more about balance than strength and I have been trying to become more fluid when going back into chaturanga + get deeper into the pose. Some days are better than others. I remember trying this pose in Costa Rica last year and barely being able to do it, so I am happy with my improvement...
close call with the chin there ;-)
Some thoughts~
"Dreams pass into the reality of action. From the actions stems the dream again; and this interdependence produces the highest form of living."
~Anais Nin
Last night I ordered my textbooks for my nutrition program that starts in about two weeks. I can't believe I am finally here and inching closer and closer to my dream. I have so many ideas and things I want to accomplish in the coming years in the realm of wellness and helping others, I can't wait to start...
Remember you choose the colors of your life, even a happy life can be windy and bumpy at times, but it also reflects a multitude of bright and vibrant colors....full of experiences, memories, and lessons.
